Need some advice on Marine AC Units...

I need to replace one of my AC units. Currently it is a Marine Air VCP-16K - That unit is no longer available, so I'm trying to decide if I stick with the Dometic Brand, or go with Mermaid or another brand...

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    A/C Unit,

Capt. Fred, I can give you the number to the Cruise Air guy for our area, if you like. His last name is Ferebee. My dealing's with him have been good. I can dig it up tommorrow (Sunday afternoon) if you like. I think he'll shoot you straight, tell him I told you to call him. Frank,SeaPower

    Clt.

If Franks guy can't help you, try Danny Martin at Martins Marine in Wilmington, he is the authorized distributor for Dometic/Cruise air in N.C.. He helped me a lot on my Cruise air system and sent me some parts I needed. He has several units in stock that he rebuilds along with new ones. His prices were very good when I checked around. Can't find his number but google Martins Marine and it should come up.

    Good luck,
    Troy

he had a couple of new units in stock last month that he had a good price on. I am considering one for a boat I am doing some work on that needs replacing.

    Good luck,

    Fred-

You might want to consider looking on Ebay as well. I was able to score a nice 16,000 BTU Cruise Air unit on there last year for about $600. It was new in the box...

    Good Luck!

I put a 16,000 BTU unit on my new rig. I got it from Martins marine. He was very good with the transaction and very helpful with putting the whole unit together for me.
