need a raymarine expert

just tried to uprgrade the software on my c80 for the sr50

First the backlight went out

Then the unit will not power on

Im ready to smash it.....

the unit powered back up this am, but still no back light...

I wonder if the software attempt caused the trouble or if it a freak occurance that the back light went at the same time?

well believe it or not, the problem was caused by the cf card.

The pins were damaged when the upgrade was installed.

The unit has been sent to raymarine for service....

sounds like it was most likely your internal battery. good luck. raymarine has excellent customer support
