for what it's worth, that rig won't ride very well-read that as it's a pounder !! it won't be the fastest thing on the water-it has 355 cats-the 3208 cats are a very reliable engine-with the low hp versions being the most reliable...if you're looking for a floating condo, and you're not gonna fish it hard than it's a good choice.for serious fishing,i think you could do better....
not a real serious fishing machine maybe 4-5 overnighters a year . and maybe a tog trip or 2 . want something with nice cabin that we can spend the weekend on . speed isn't really a issue owner says he get 22kts at 27 gph.what would you rec. looking into around 100k ?

capt daley is correct-18kts tops that's it for speed....
look around i've seen a few 35 bertrams for sale-those were a tank...
there's a sweet 36 hatteras for sale in cape may-it was a very well kept charter boat..it's not beat to death, very clean and well maintained...
where are you located....
its a nice rig but not what im looking for. doesnt have enough sleeping room. not looking for a ex charter boat they tend to be a little more beat up then a private owner that fish's weekends .

My dad has a 37 87 so i know alot about it. It is a very heavy boat and it is very sea worthy. It does not pound, i'm not sure where they got that from? The 85 isn't the best year, it was the first year for that model. the galley is layedout differently on the newer ones. The biggest difference is that an 87 or newer has an island berth and the bunks are in a L-shape rather then over under. Diesels are very rare, i believe there was only 6 made, all with 3208's. It is a rather slow boat, but no other 37' is as wide and offers as much cabin space. My fathers is for sale, its in maryland, but it has gas motors. If you want to ever take a look at it, let me know.
A general problem to look for on the eggs is the seals by the windows. After time water will leak between the glass and the window soaking the balsa core hull creating a problem from hell.
