NEED INPUT... SINGLE ENGINE EXPRESS STYLE

I'm in the preliminary stages, but looking for information regarding SINGLE ENGINE express styled boats. Will consider having something built to finding a NICE used boat.

    Let me here your thoughts.

    Thanks

Check out the Judge 34' Express. It is a sweet ride and cruises along great with a singe diesel. I think there's a couple of guys on this board who have or used to have one. Judgeyachts.com.

Fun to drive.A bow thruster will help if you are not well versed in single screw handling. On the other hand lack of a thruster will make you good.

The first boat I ran was a single screw chris craft, after that I insisted on two screws. Wrap a length of line around a prop, have engine failure, or be out in bad wind and you will really appreciate the second engine. I know the economics of a single screw are very attractive, but get stuck offshore or get blown around by wind and suddenly that second engine was a bargain.

I don't think you will find many single express boats. I would look at the judge. I don't think they are popular so if you care about resale it would probably be hard.

I love my single express boat. There is no doubt you must pay attention in tight quarters, but a blast to show once you have it wired. One thing also is that you will know your engine room inside and out,you gotta take care of the one engine. The next boat I build will only have one again.

You should check out my buddies 31 Jersey Cape. It has a single screw diesel that cruises in the mid thirties, we did a three hundred mile trip running over a hundred eash way and burned just under 110 gallons o fuel. It is listed with Cardnal Yacht sales. The boat only has like 150 hours he is getting a new one built with more extras. Here is the link http://www.cardinalyachts.com/used_v...6b7f8318ea008d

I owned one of the Judge 34 Express with a single 480hp Cummins. Great boat and Bill Judge is a great builder. The Judge 34 would cruise at 23Kts and only burn 15GPH. With the new single rail injection engines, this boat would be 2-3kts faster and still only burn 15GPH.

I agree with Bobby on this rig. Super nice boat and worth consideration. The owner put it together right and it is loaded.
