    What we've done to keep ours from blowing up is run under 2000... Yeah yeah I know the book says 2150 or so for cruise but I know mine make bad noises if I go there even for a short spurt... Running slow though has its own drawbacs though. As I mentioned, seems to load up the coolers and air system with sludge and carbon and that in itself is a whole new set of problems...

    1950 was all I ran too - motor is too small for that hp. You appear to be lucky b/ there is a long list of other 43's w/ 625 motors tat have met the same demise. Mt old boat (i believe) is in Texas w/ Manns in it now.
