Heads up Wayne, sent you a PM. For a little more than 100K you can have a real boat that, for overall performance, construction, durability, dependability, and fuel efficiency will blow those K-Mart models mentioned above out of the water. Just a thought.

Thanks for all of the replies, I have my eye on a 1989 Black Watch with 250 h.p. Cummins that have 1700 hours, I guess from what I have read that they are just broken in with that many hours? The hull is in good condition and it gets around 1.5 miles per gallon which is great compared to Blackfin 31' or 32' Combi's which are supposed to be around 1.1 mpg. and still has a good ride quality. I would also like to take a look at a 29' Topaz with 250 Cummins as well.

I ran a 250 "B" Series Cummins in my gillnetter in Alaska. In 10 years and 10,000 hours of operation it only cost me 30 minutes of fishing time to replace the alternator. Sold the boat in '97 and it is still running without any major over haul. My estimate given the use of the boat is that it currently has between 15,000 and 18,000 hours. I ran the engine at a cruise speed of 2000 rpm out of 2500 rpm and changed the oil every 250 hours. There are other good engines but I feel the "B" Cummins is hard to beat.

sportfish_1,

I grant you permission to forgive my dry sense of humour. FYI the "gem" may be viewed in the For Sale forum under the heading 30' South Shore Downeast Sportfish. Good Fishing.
