    Any Thing That Start's With,

Furuno. Look around at the other commercial boats in your area. If it's like the fleet here, most that make a go of it have Furuno. They can be repaired if needed, most of the other's are through away. Just my opinion. By the way,I just came in to warm up. Guess what I'm doing, replacing one of my chart plotter's that bit the bullet last week and can't be repaired. It wasn't a Furuno, but the one I am installing right now is! My rig is now 100% Furuno and I am a happy man. Frank

    Frank,
I got your message tonight on the way home. You must have been going to Howards to get your new plotter when you said you were coming over the bridge.
Wish I had of heard the phone ring between the sanders running you could of come by the shop and checked out Tommys rig we are working on.

    Capt Troy,

Yep, I was on my way back home, got it fitted and installed. Would have liked to stop and check out the "new" rig. How's it comming by the way? If it would lay out just a bit, maybe we could get some rock for the freezer. Frank

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The boat has a raymarine C120 it just doesnt read the bottom the way I'm use to from the furuno. maby a better transducer would fix part of the prob. can I add another c120 and have them work together

You could do that but they can not operate at the same frequency simultaneously. If one is at 50 KHZ the other must be at 200 khz or you could operate only one at a time.
I dont know what type of transducer you have now but if you are looking to identify small potholes and small ledges at 300 ft I wouldnt go with anything less than 1 kw thruhull on a digital finder.
