I received this response yesterday from a letter I sent a few weeks ago.
Katie Stanley (Rep. Yongue)

Mr. Miller -
Thank you for your letter. I took the liberty of sharing your concerns with fellow Representative Bonner Stiller (Brunswick County). We understand that law enforcement is just now enforcing an old law with greater fervency. Representative Stiller has been contacted by boaters with fines ranging from $100 up to $1,800 (Florida visitor). I understand your frustration. Representative Stiller and I will be looking for a way to curb this in the upcoming short session, which begins May 13, 2008.

Well guys we are cruising along!! Just received word last night that we are over 700 letters sent to each of the house and senate members!! I have received a few replies and all of them state that they are aware of the Boat Towing issue and they are or will be working on this in the upcoming short session that starts in May. We really need to hammer this home and push for a real solution and not just a band aid. We will be working on another letter to go out after the meeting at the Warwick Center at the UNCW campus April 21st 2008 @ 6:00pm. If you can make the meeting please do, it would be nice to have a packed standing room only crowd!!! Thanks to everyone who is sending letters every letter counts on this one because it affects everyone!!!….Mark

A little update for those that are interested as of this morning 900 people
have sent this letter!! I think this shows how concerned everyone is about
the Boat Towing problem. Hopefully we will hit 1000 before the end of
the week……..Mark
