been using the furuno mfd12 for months (9) and love it the radar, FF are THE BEST.

THat said there were some crazy stuff with the first units but with every update it has gotten better, now other then the waypoint transfer there is nothing that I can complain about considering all the features.

The bath stuff for the midatlantic is there you need to call rich at furuno and get the latest downloads. There is a overlay/depth shading that if you know how to use properly will make all the difference.

Getting update is easy if you send furuno SD cards they will do the downloads and send them back for free, just shipping.

I have gotten 4 sets of sat photos, 2 bath updates and 4 now software updates from furuno, they know how long it takes for the downloads and will help with that.

Love it, friend got a garmin 5012 late this summer and after seeing and using the 12 he was pissed he did.

    MFD 3D Waypoint converter

For anyone that wants to spend the next couple of day's (and nights) converting navnet 2V to Navnet 3D send me your email and i will forward the software and instructions.

WARNING: The instructions for the download are in Japanees. It take a lot of trail and error but it will work if you have the time to figure it out. I converted Raymarine to Nav-3D but first it had to be imported to excel.

    Good Luck

Can you post a pic of your bathy chart, lets say for the area around the Hot Dog? As of the Atlantic City show 2 weeks ago the only real bathy I have seen for the 3D was for the Hudson (a sample of the bathys to come). The vector on the Dog was the outline of the lump as shown on the raster NOAA charts. There was no further detail when you zoomed in. Talked with Ed and Drew at the show who confirmed that this is all thats available for now. I would be interested to see the bathy charts you are talking about. Surprised to hear that these guys were not aware of the bathys you are refering to.
When you zoom in on the same area (Hot Dog for our discussion) on either the VX2 Navionics, CMap or Vision (Garmin) there is a whole lot more detail than what shown on the NOAA chart.

Well as far as actual bath lines no, but if used the depth shading and play with the overlay setting to while fishing a area you will get a distinct color lines indicating the depths/bath lines. Then use the 3d to get more of a ledge view. I am not around the boat much these day so a pic will be a few weeks.

When I first got the machine the depth shading stuff sucked for this area, it was nice for the hudson and north. But about sept. Rich had a update that brought that stuff down our way.
The actual bath lines are up there and I was promised by furuno the are on there way, but after using the depth shading stuff Im not in a hurry.

Prices on Navnet 3D are going up at the end of the month. Furuno is having a price increase. If anybody is looking to get one of these now is the time. You can call us or order right on the site.

My system is being installed now. I have also installed the 4212 Garmin next to the 3D just in case the April deadline is missed. I will try the shading and see. The boat should be in OC in about 3 weeks.
