Anyone using Navionics charts on their iPhone? What do you think?
Dig it!
Keep in mind that this is a chart of the whole east coast for $4.99 and it is viewed on an iphone screen, but it is very very cool. I run navionics on my Furuno navnet and like the application on my phone. I can sit on my deck and plan a route and call up details on marinas. Easily worth it.
I use it too, however in my part of the world there are markings on the chart that just aren't where they say they are. Any advice?
I just ordered a Navionics Gold chip for my portable GPS unit today. Does that count.![]()
Can you be more specific as to your statement that markings aren't correct? Do you have app titled Marine: Caribbean & Central America? We'd like to be informed of any discrepencies you find on our charts. Within the app itself, there is a discrepency report (DR) which will be sent to Navionics automatically. Simply tap on the screen where you feel there is an error and this will open a menu of items... at the very bottom is a menu item titled "report a problem". Click on this, then tap into the comment area to add text and describe and then press send. The lat and lon will automatically be sent with the report. We want you to be happy with the app and we will research any inconsistencies you discover.
Have an iPhone or iPod touch (2nd gen)? We have a limited number of FREE promotional codes which would allow you to download our chart/app on iTunes at no cost. In return we'd like your feedback and suggestions for future updates. If your interested, please send your chart request to mobile@navionics.com and say you saw the offer on the "Sportfishermen" Forum.
Any Navionics apps for Blackberries??
Navionics Mobile apps are compatible with the Apple iPhone only at this point in time. We hope to have compatibility with other smart phones in the future. 2010 is the year we're targeting. Thanks for your interest and stay tuned!
