    Mounting Radome On Soft Top

For any of you guys that have soft tops or guys that do this kinda stuff regularly, what do you do? Weld a hunk of aluminum to the T-Top? Here are a few pictures of the top if that helps at all. 21' boat.

    From Stern

Want to get this up there because I need 1 more spot for an antenna (besides extra height, etc) with XM weather, GPS, VHF and Radome. Don't need flood light or nav light

    Let's see your setups!
    Thanks in advance

My soft top support has a plate welded(above the electronics box) to mount my dome. Same mount as your pix.

Note: I put silicone on the bolts of the dome and bracket as mine was stolen this year. Not thief proof but will slow them down enough the may be noticed by someone.

Aluminum plate across the middle of the t-top and safety wire the nuts on for anti theft.

    Thanks

Well, there's one welder in the phone book, so I hope he's good. If not, we'll be doing a lot of driving. I do have a friend who's father is an ironworker. Welds for a living and makes big bucks. I've heard it's harder/differnet to weld aluminum. I'm pretty sure I know what a good weld looks like.

Can a guy who has tons of experience welding, but never welded aluminum, do a job like this?

I think ACF Marine could help you with anonized aluminum welding, but they are located in NJ

I was afraid of that. I have to pray that one guy does aluminum, I guess.

Jer, thanks but Jersey is 200-300 miles away. I guess that's not too bad for good quality work, though.
