Mounting radar dome HELP !!!

Im in the process of mounting a radar dome on my hard top and I was told it has to be mounted at an angle so when running the dome is about level. Is this true and someone shed some light on this.

You want to tip it forward just a bit. When you get up on plane, the radar will not then be pointing toward the sky. 4-7 degrees is usual and you can do it with a few washers or get a mount that has it built in.
