Hey DD, Thanks for checkin'. Wide Open is putting down His roots in Boynton and I am working on the boat up here. I have been removing Yammie rigging and other now useless wiring. I have also been working on some other little projects on the boat while I await the call. I will then truck Her to the shop for the power in about 2 weeks. I will post some pics this weekend of what I am into. I hope WO appreciates My hard labor!

Thumbs up Finally!

Well, after alot of research and careful consideration, We have finally rigged the 28' Intrepid Open with a set of brand new set of 250 Yamaha Four Strokes. She is better than ever and rides like a dream. She seems to like the weight in the stern and She feels like a different boat! The boat is cruising @47kts and burning only 1.8 gph. Erik will be running Her out of Boynton Beach and I am sure He will have some reports very soon. It was definately worth the wait!

It was a very hard decision. Cost and economy were the main factors in Our decision. As stated in a previous post, We were looking for a High 40kt cruise but it had to be economical as well. We talked to so many proffessionals that My head was spinnin'! The first piece of advice came from JAWS and as it turned out...He is dead on as usual! Plus....She looks better with Yammies! The final straw came in the form of a great deal from Yamaha and Lentine Marine. They did an awesome install and were very helpful.

I have heard the mercs require 93 octane. Did you find that to be true in your search?

If it is you'll be happy with the yamis as they will eat anything.

Yeah, The high octane was a small factor but overall it was the opinions of many pro's. It is nice just to be back in the game! Now I need to get down there.....
