Minn Kota Talon feedback

Been seeing the newer mk Talon (power pole knockoff) and I like the way it operates...on paper. Does anyone have any experience with it? I fish inland rivers as well as tidal rivers and will need it mostly for shallower rocky bottoms with current.
Any input would be appreciated....

I just got the trolling motor with auto pilot. Its a total of about 2500 by the time you are done putting it on and I did it myself. I want this unit, I just need to see it in action and see if it really fits my needs. Damn, this is like owning an offshore boat again. First thing I gotta do is get out of here. Its the snow that is causing me to anchor right now, not the talon.

I have looked at this unit and not sure about hoe I would like it as I don't see any way for it to give. I like the fact that it has a motor alarm to let you know it is down when you gas engine is started. Also like the fact that it is a easy off and on feature and no pumps inside the boat. As i understand it, weight to weight is about the same as the power pole but it is self contained. Right now it would still be power pole for me

Is it a piece of equiptment that you use and cant do without once you have it. The trolling motor with auto feels that way to me now, am I missing another great piece of equiptment?

Alex if I had the money, I would have one but it is not something that I can't do without, like the trolling motor, now that I have one, I don't want to be with out it even though I still pole my boat a lot and I don't want to be with out my pole.

I use a stern mud anchor with no chain and hop down and ease it over when we hook up. This year it is in the plan to get one, each year I get something for the boat , first a jack plate (best money I have spent on my boat) then last year it was the trolling motor, this will be the power pole that I will save for.

When you fish with someone that does have one and see how nice they are, you will want one, this is what happened to me...

Alex, I already know that I like it. My fishing partner on the Redfish tour has 2 on his boat and this year it ruined me, that is why I am going to put 1 on my boat.

They dont have two versions though, do they? There doesnt seem to be a stictly saltwater version, and bass boat version. I also found it as low as 1100 dollars on line. Of course they also dont have it, its backordered.
I do like the Minnkota trolling motor, I got your PM lee. I hear you on that. I do like the fact its electric as opposed to hydraulic. Plus, remote control.
