I have not heard anything bad other than I think you have to run 93 octane in them.

    You can run 89oct.
They are the good engines, very fast and very thirsty. Maybe Admin or Striper 101 will chime in, they both run triples.

    MERCS 250'S

THANKS FOR THE INFO SO FAR. THE DEALER STATES THAT I SHOULD GET ABOUT 2 MILES TO THE GALLON AT 4500 RPMS, THE MOTORS THAT I HAVE NOW ARE 1992 YAHAMA 250'S CARBERATED. ONLT 3/4 MILE TO THE GALLON. "THATS THIRSTY" @ A NORMAL SPEED (APPROX 20-25MPH) WITH A THIRTY FT PROLINE WALK AROUND, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK THESE NEW MOTORS SHOULD GET? I WANTED THE 275'S BUT THE MAX HP RATED IS 500HP.
