    Mercury Smartcraft installation

I recently had a pair of 2002 Mercury Opti's installed on my boat and am now trying to install a new set of SC1000 gauges to go with the engines. My basic problem is that I can’t figure out how to interface the gauges with the 5-pin tachometer connector coming off of the new ignition engine harnesses that I have had installed with the engines (Mercury part # 84-81662A25). If I have to run separate cables from the engines to the gauges (I see similar connectors on the engines that are used on the sc1000 junction box), what cables do I need? In this case, will I also have to purchase a 6-way junction box since there is only 1 unused port on the box now (3 used by 2 tachs and 1 speedo)?

Also, I have added a sc100 system link gauge for fuel (i.e. total in tank) which seems to plug in to the harness for the tach’s. How does this gauge interface with the sending unit from my gas tank?

I’ve attached a PDF file which better describes my set-up for ease of reference.

    Thanks

    Parchy

Did you get a white manual with the gauges ? I haven't put together an install in a while but the manual has a lot of info.

I do believe that there is a adaptor harness to rectify your harness issue.

If you do not have that white manual get one you will need it to calibrate and set up the gauges
