my brother is going to re-power his Velocity wth outboards and found a set of 2007 275HP Verados wth 800hr's on them, complete wth controls for $24k for the pair...the sellers states the warranty on these engines is transferable and good till 2012, is that correct
he also stated that 800hr's is ok as Verados can go 1400+ hrs before a rebuild sounds kinda' like Bull-Shit to me, but Im NO Merc-man ![]()

Ask you question on the Verado Club. You are sure to get the truth. I have 275's, I really find it hard to believe it need a rebuild at 1400 hrs

800 hours in maybe two years is a lot. I would have to ask the seller why he is repowering an engine that is still under warranty and if the engines come with the controls it sound like he is changing brands. Assuming the engines you are looking at are from a repower.

Verados
We have a pair of 2006 275's with over 800 hours on them with no problems up to this point except a sensor that was replaced under warranty. And by no means do we baby them!!! However the 24K sounds a little steep for those motors. We are thinking about repowering with 300's because we love the verados. Once you go black you never go back!!!
