Mathers controls??

Just wondering if anyone who has mathers electronic gear/throttle controls has come across the same problem we are having?? Twice now while putting the gears in reverse the controls have "locked up" forcing us to make some hairy boat manuvering.... including shutting the engines very..very quickly. The first time this happened we were able to power the controls on and off and they came back to neutral... however sunday we were not able to get them to reset (very luck we had just docked at our home slip after a long trip!!). So we were curious if anyone else has experienced this and what the reason/outcome was, as we are a little nervous now running the boat with this "phantom" problem.

Electronic phantoms...plain and simple. We had mathers on our old custom. God i hate those POS's. First, the top station couldn't take control...control unit replaced. Then the main station took a crap on us one day 25 miles offshore. We limped back with one engine...why? well the servo/main board whatever it is screwed the pooch.

I can't stand those things. Unfortunately, sometimes they are the only option on larger vessels.
