Marina technician earns Yamaha master status

Ocean House Marina announced the recent certification of John Patt as a Yamaha Master Technician.


In addition to his master technician honor, Patt is also an NEMA-certified marine electronics installer. He's been employed at Ocean House Marina for more than 25 years and resides in Carolina, R.I.

I'll bite. What is a Yamaha Master Technician?

Yamaha master tech is a technician that is authorized to work on all watercraft products and has completed all watercraft and marine training that yamaha offers F350's, 2 stroke, portable 90 hp and below and 4-stroke 115-250hp. As well as all customer service, service manager module's and all the dvd training modules for electrical fuel so on and so forth. Also has to attend all sales & service seminars. I believe that have to be re-certified every so often or 4 years.

More or less someone has investing a lot of training in to one tech and is the jack of all Yamahas.

Only few mechanics can claim the master mechanic title and quite a few marinas do have them.
