I need new manifolds, risers etc. on 350 HP 454 Crusaders.
Are the Crusader manifolds worththe extra money or should I go with one of the off brands- OSCO, etc ??

My boat is a 1990 with 454's. I have replaced the Risers and Manifolds twice in 12 years. The first time in 1997 I replaced the original Crusader manifolds (due to a failure witch allowed water to enter the engine) with the OSCO brand and the second time in 2005 as a PM, not cause of failure. The OSCO's have worked just fine.
If you need a Heat Exchanger, there is a company in Washington State called SEAKAMP Engineering, Inc. Their product is way better than OEM and they can be found for a couple hundred cheaper than Crusader parts.
I replaced my risers with OSCOs on my sbc 350 and I had no problems with them the gasket seat areas were machined a lot better than the OEMs that came on the boat. I wouldnt spend the extra bucks for OEM. I think Sierra also makes Crusader manifolds and risers alot cheaper than OEM
they just work and seal good. you can buy them online and they have all the ports you need for any other cooler lines. If you ever get a chance look at the 6bta cummins you can get total rebuilds with 2 year warrantees from cummins and they are not expensive and they have lots of parts. the 454's are like 35-45 gph going no where...
