Looking to get another ride..Contender 27t/31t, Reg 29 FS or Whitewater 28

Moving out of my 26 Reg FS...looking to move up and have 3 or 4 boats on the radar. The next boat has to last a while or I will be thrown out of the house..

    Contender 27t/31t...

Had a relatively short seatrial on the 27t on a snotty day and thought it was a pretty good ride and I really liked the layout except for the bilge arrangement.

While it is a minor point the bilge area just doesn't seem well thought out for access but since I don't spend much time there I really liked it otherwise.

27t seemed pretty fuel efficient and has a totally level ride (ie not bow happy) which I loved....pretty boat too.

31t I don't know much about...I'm sure it is thirsty but I have long offshore runs to make so that extra length and weight might work out. I would prefer the F250s vs F350s as I'm not really a speed freak.

    Reg 29Fs

Not sure I want another FS layout but the ride of this boat was so sweet and my local dealer is working me hard.

    Whitewater 28

This boat is a sleeper. Took a ride to Miami and fished on one. Decent fuel economy, solid ride and exceptionally well made and laid out. Wiring is immaculate. May not ride as well as the others but is legally trailerable and that is worth something to me. Otherwise it is an 80 mi run down to NC by water..

What opinions do you guys/gals have on these particular boats and why? Please base it on experience or ownership only...no speculation...I can go to other websites for that..

    Thanks

I know where there's a really good deal on a brand new 27' Contender.

That 27T that I think Capt John is referring to is the deal of the year.

My friend was going to buy it yesterday when he found out the price, but his wife said no. I wish I had money.

Go with the Whitewater. I know which boat you fished and you can get much more horsepower on her and will be really happy! Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions.

If I can get my current ride paid off, I'll be going to see him about that 31 he has.
