the cruise with the diesel is remarkable and re-marketable easily![]()
What about a Stamas 290 Tarpon with a Yanmar diesel? Great fuel economy, tons of room.
Don't forget the 28 Southport...widest beam in it's class at
10'6", dry ride, soft ride, fast, economical and definately raises fish....great on the drift/chunk but better on the troll....

Go to yachtworld and search 28 Croswait, there are alot of pictures and info there.
Boss has got her for sale. PM me and I'll get you the details. I'd put her against any in the class. 28'6" with 9'10" beam.
I find it hard to beat the 31' Contenders. Yes I am on the pro-staff but that is because I believe in the product.
I am sick of hearing about the Cape Horns being unsinkable I know I could sink one. The Titanic was unsinkable as well.
I am not bashing on Cape Horns at all just stop with the unsinkable stuff.
or your opinion ..your in the wrong biz.! so yep if they are unsinkable ...they are... The Contender is 'tender' in the fact she is a deep v...so you can also say that she will outrun a flatter bottom boat also... then pump her with foam and make it un sinkable.. There is a self check kinda boat survey done by Dave Pasco I think (a survey) google it and look at every boat YOU think is affordable, family truckster on the bay or sportfish / sea running boat. Just pick one finally! have fun with whatever you buy! PS those Carolina to NJ boat builders are some great works also...just get what you want and need.
You may want to consider a Privateer. I've run alot of center console's in the 25+ class, and you won't find a better ride than the 28 Privateer. She's a little on the wet side, but she has the weight to give you a great ride. Fuel economy with twin 225 opti's is 1.7-1.8 at 4000 rpm, which is 28-30 knts, with economy of 1.1-1.3 at wot, which gives you 46-48 knts. These boats are built in Bellhaven, NC mainly for commercial fisherman, and basically a custom boat. They will lay the deck and console out for you however you want.
