Why would you offer a market opinion if you did not know what I paid, what the rehab costs were, and what a restored boat such as this can bring? Let's just set aside the memories, the renewed family bonds that will surely occur as a result of the purchase, and the other pleasures that come along with this decision. There are more important things then money you know. Let's just look at it as a business decision as you attempted to do [I suspect you are a young guy in your early 30's making real money for the first time in your life]. Why would you make such a blanket opionion not knowing all the variables? Maybe its just inexperience or maybe its just ego exercising itself. Either way, I hope you find something more important someday than your bank statement and stock portfolio, but by that time it might be too late.
BTW- The flounder comment was cute, but not very creative. You should have skipped one of those finance classes and taken creative writing.
