Congrats on getting her back. Bonding with a boat cannot be understood until you actually do it. My brother built me a boat 15 years ago. I had many great memories on that boat and caught many thousand fish during the years I ran it. I sold it for Bill to build the one I currently have. I kept all the info on who I sold that boat to, hopefully some day I will be lucky enough to buy it back. Then again, I am developing that same relationship with the new one.........

Beautiful boat and good luck with it.

You don't love the boat nor does it love you. But if you have spent days on end on a boat (like several of us on this forum who have significant hours at sea have done) you do learn a boats natural rythms and you learn to adjust your style to those rythms. In that respect you do develop a "bond" with a boat.
You said it JUST RITE..... In my years of running different boats, I like to think they are like another appendage. They become a part of you that you know every detail. How she purrs... how and what she can do. I think you do bond with her!!!! Unlike women though, you can treat her bad and she'll be right there for you.
Congrats also Fritz.... can't wait to see her back in action!!!!

Some original pics

Here are couple of pics of the boat as original in 1964-65. How about the rigger length and radar mast?

Forgot about that radar mast. Those outriggers certainly saw their share of flags.

I glanced over the thread and thought I saw mention of repower. I won't tell you what to do or not. Mine I left original power and slow as could be... Only did that because another wood boat I had I did do a repower that didn't go so good.
I took out 6v53 on that one and went with turbo volvos when they were just comming into play. That boat had been a 16-17 knot boat all her life. The volvos jacked her up to about 24 or 25... I soon discovered that wood boats work. At speed they weren't designed for they work too much. That boat's seams opened up and didn't want to go back the way they were. I wound up chasing her for the next two years and she never did get right.
If she's happy with her speed now. Do the little gem a favor and keep her at that happy speed...
