Definitely keeping her as a dayboat. The original interior is the near exact same layout as the modern

Let's just set aside the memories, the renewed family bonds that will surely occur as a result of the purchase, and the other pleasures that come along with this decision. There are more important things then money you know. Let's just look at it as a business decision as you attempted to do [I suspect you are a young guy in your early 30's making real money for the first time in your life]. Why would you make such a blanket opionion not knowing all the variables? Maybe its just inexperience or maybe its just ego exercising itself. Either way, I hope you find something more important someday than your bank statement and stock portfolio, but by that time it might be too late.

BTW- The flounder comment was cute, but not very creative. You should have skipped one of those finance classes and taken creative writing.
Fritz,

i dont want to get too cute with you, b/c most building inspectors arent that bright and if I am too creative they never get the joke. You know what I mean, u always have to speak to the audience. By the way I am none of the things that u described. See you in Cape May in a couple of years on her.

Not a quess, yes I know the boat. In fact, I know it so well that the restore will not be complete without stocking it with an adequate supply of those little green cans.

Sent you a private message giving you some background. I would love to know how you found the boat. Where is the boat now? I last I knew I think it left Cape May to go to Atlantic City.

PRICELESS

some things are just priceless. one of the all time greats, some of the greatest craftsman will be looking down smiling knowing someone with the same passion as they had creating her will be giving her new life. No amount of money can beat passion.

You are right in that boats are not living creatures, However, have you never been on a boat (especially a WOODEN boat) that just seemed "right"?

You don't love the boat nor does it love you. But if you have spent days on end on a boat (like several of us on this forum who have significant hours at sea have done) you do learn a boats natural rythms and you learn to adjust your style to those rythms. In that respect you do develop a "bond" with a boat.
