I was on A triple 250etec 35TE scarab and we where running against A triple 250xs powered fountain and we buried them.I think our top was around 58-59mph.And we where cruising somewhere around 30kts-33kts at the time we passed them.So to answer your question I wasnt smoking anything but I know your fountain got smoked on that day!and How dare you compare A Fountain to A Yellowfin not even in the same class!! SAL outta chime in to tell you A little bit about that 34 yellowfin he had!That thing was A bear!and the 36 is even better!

All I can say is who ever was running the Fountain was not running it like it should have been.........When its all said and done FOUNTAIN will be 1st.If Them Black ones on the back of it hold up.Just think if it had the 350 Yamahas on it. .By the way did you here what the 38 with the 350 Mercurys did to the YF,DONZI,WELLCRAFTS and the rest of the Teams in Key West. Thats what got it all started.

Alden's quad 38 Fountain will not be in the race b/c he has sold it, and I do not think his new boat has been finished yet. Hopefully Miss La will be there to represent a quad Fountain. This race is gonna come down to the driver and who is willing to put the most pressure on there engines/gearcases. My money is on the trip 350 Fountain if a quad boat is not in the race. I wish I was down there this week and in the race.

I can here the excuses from everyone already, "the only reason the Fountain won is b/c it had the new mercury 350 verados."

I was wondering when You would chime in her P. I know You know Fountains and speed. I will wait to see when the spray clears, but I got a sneaky feeling about this one. Reggie builds for speed and has been sucessful at doing so for years. After all.....Fountain was the first FAST CC.

I was thinking that the first fast center was built by wellcraft in the mid to late 70's in the way of the 302 scarab did you ever hear of it?and again A bigger version of this in the mid 80's the first 34 was born A 34 scarab SS correct me if I am wrong but these where the first true GO fasts of all time!



And I agree with propbender these guys are goin have to beat up their boats and motors to win!I just wish I could be there at the finish line!

DD, You are right! I completly forgot about the early Scarabs I sold Wellcrafts for a few years and should have known that! Why no Scarab in the race?

But I am afraid they do fall short in the speed catagory of todays newer and more technologicaly advanced high performace CC of today at least in regards to speed anyway!But not always in ride characteristics.But I am still pretty sure that they make A hell of A fishing platform because I have one and it has been good to me and has been lucky for me.
