Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
Kent Island, Maryland - trailer lights help
I need help fixing the running lights on a small boat trailer on Kent Island, Maryland. I rewired it with new lights, however the running lights are not working. Brake and turn-signals are working fine. Anyone have any contacts in the area that could fix? Thanks in advance.

Check to see if you have a signal coming out of the car and clean your contacts on both the plug and receiver. If you have power there, on your running lights pull on each connection as 1 of them is not making a good connection. With turn and brakes lights working, I think you ground is fine.

It could also be a fuse in your vehicle. I had the same problem a few weeks ago and it ended up being the fuse, not a ground.
If I'm not careful to line up the plug when I plug the trailer to the truck it will blow the running light fuse.
I know one thing, I HATE TRAILER LIGHTS.

I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could.
Not sure what type truck you have, but, last year I was towing a car hauler with my Nissan Titan and I had the same problem. We traced all wires, and checked all the fuses and found no problems. The fix was a "special" adapter located in the fuse box...the U-Haul dealer had the adapter as they are different for each vehicle, basically remove the one installed and replace with the adapter. Sorry, not sure the exact terminology, adapter is probably wrong, but, it did plug into the main fuse box, and fixed the problem.
