Just another little 28' Bertram getting a make-over..
well got a request to re-build another one ..so engines were ripped, all old junk was ripped out and the boat was sandblasted bottom and inside.. (makes life and sanding so much easier on rebuilds) here is a couple pics.
fuel tanks are each 98 gallon, transom layup: 3- layers inside the original transom skin of 1708 / some cabosil / 1/32" fibers and vacuumed down, layers of 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" marine ply and epoxy was all laminated one after another and vacuumed down, 3 layers of 1708 on the inside of the transom and again vacuumed down, new frames, fuel tanks, cut the old engine compartment down to a flat floor with hatches and fit the bracket on.. need about 7 days to finish her up.. makes you feel great when you get a bunch of work done.. and use your head while your doing it!
