nabeelah,
the old Detroit 149's and the MAN's use the same concept. One head per cylinder is a good concept in my eye's, for several reasons. No doubt in my mind a slower turning engine is better. The problem is everyone wants to keep going faster and push more loads. Engines are designed according to market demands. Frank

Crab mustard is good
Frank,
I'm just curious. Why wouldn't a rig fit out with IPS be a decent choice for Eastern NC?

F One,
May be a great choice for some, just not for me. Lot's of shallow water and sand. I know you're supposed to keep it in the best water, but things happen as we all know. I just can't get too excited about forward facing, un-guarded props. Looks like a liability to me. Guess I'm just too set in my ways. Frank

Frank,
What do you think about the Zeus pods? I didn't like the IPS when it came out because of the foward facing props either, but I like the built in trim tab on the Zeus.

Foul Hook'd,
I haven't had my hands on one, but have had chance to see some of the "Company" pro's and con's. I do like the idea of a skeg on the bottom, it faces away from subject objects, has it's own trim tab set up, intuitive joystick operation, etc.... I my self still like the time proven simplicity if a conventional shaft and prop. Until proven other wise that's my preferrence. Frank

With all this west wind here in Pamlico a OB on a jackplate would have it's hands full
Water lowest I can remember.
