Island Style Boat Build Update

Well guys, since the last update during the boat builder naming contest, we have been hard at finishing up the hull. Tonight and tomorrow we will be shooting the final primer. Wednesday sliding her out of the building and Thursday morning going for the flip. Anyone in the area that wants to stop by and check this out can give me a call on my cell at 910-279-4590 to verify things are moving along as we plan. The website should be up in the next 2 weeks and pics of the build to date will be on there. Attached are a few pics.

Well, believe it or not but things went alot smoother than we thought with bringing the boat out of the building, so we went ahead and flipped her on over. It is now sitting back in the shop on it's cradle. Attached is a picture of her hanging in the air after the platform had been removed and the other is sitting back in the shop. I had a guy video tape it, so maybe he can put it on youtube. Hopefully the website will be up next week and a full line of pics will be on there. A brief spec on the boat is:

Express Style
LOA: 43'7
Beam: 15'2
Fuel: 600
Water: 100
Engines: Twin Cat C-15, 865 hp each
Cruise: 35kt
Top Speed: 41 kt
Draft: 38" Loaded

I was planning on riding down to watch the flip tommorow morning. Oh well. I would still like to come by and check out the build sometime, where exactly are you located and what would be a good time to come? I don't want to be in the way,

thanks

Thumbs up Nice!

Nice work Scott. Love the lines, especially the tumble-home transom. Will She have a center helm and how will the helm and pit be laid out. I have a million questions, but I can wait!Good luck with the build and please keep the pics of progress coming.

We are located on Hwy 179 between Ocean Isle and Seaside, behind Fountain Head Landing. The address is 6934 Beach Dr. We have a open door policy and everyone is welcome to stop by anytime. There has been many a man hour put in so far and long hours so I am giving all the guys next week off before we get back to it. After next week, we work 10 straight with 4 off starting on monday. The helm will be center located and I will post a layout when I get back in the office. Thanks again for the positive comments.

The website is up now and pics of the build from the beginning are located under the Yachts page. The inside and stringers are being glassed.
