I haven't been on the site in awhile. Been mostly in the shop, the official splash date is June 30th at the Ocean Isle Marina and Yacht Club. Everyone is invited to stop by and watch her splashed. There will still be about 2 weeks of work performed in the water and shake down. On July 14, it will be leaving for the Barta Boys and Girls Club Billfish tourn. We are proud to be this years Captains Party sponsor and the boat will be sitting at the Beafort Docks in front of the tent for display and tours. Hope to see everyone there for a great cause. Here are a few pics from a couple weeks ago. Final paint will be done this coming week.
How do you get to the sides of the generator without pulling it out? The reason I ask is I have ben working on a few boats lately and the access to critical maintaince areas and components suck so bad you have to be a midget to get to them. Please think of the mechanics thet will be working on it in the future. We need some love too.
This boat looks to be built like a brick you know what. Awesome job fellas.
Good observation, one of our main concerns has been with maintance after completion. With the genset being a 16 kw, due to all of the electrical components and loading, it has been doghoused thru the forward engine room bulkhead. That created a couple of obstacles, one being access. So, the genset is located under the salon stairs. The stairs are on an acutator that lift up and a custom sound shield can then be removed to give access to both the top and sides of the genset for maintenance. For daily fluid level checks, the gen can be check from the rear side in the engine room.
Come stop by on Tuesday for the splash at Ocean Isle Marina and Yacht Club, approx. splash time will be 12:00
Yesterday could not have gone better. But I would like to thank everyone for all of there help, efforts, and support. Yeah, some people have called us crazy, idiots, and much worse, but one thing they have to say after we put her in the water is "THAT IS ONE DAMN GOOD LOOKING RIG" Alot of man hours have been spend in construction over the last 15 months and alot more will go into it over the next few weeks. But the final product is well worth it! The boat will be sitting at the Ocean Isle Marina and Yacht Club for the next couple of weeks with final interior, hard top, and teak work. Stop on by and check her out for yourself. And be sure to come by the Beaufort docks for a tour at the Barta Boys and Girls Club Billfish Tournament on July 16-19.
Here is a pic of it backing down to the water and another sitting at the dock with tower just being set.
The last two weeks have been pretty trying but it was all worth it when we finally backed her into the slip last Friday night at the Beaufort Docks for the Barta Boys and Girls Club Tournament. Even though we didn't get to fish, we had a great time, met alot of people, and were able to help out a great cause. Thanks to everyone that stopped by to check her out. We are back at Ocean Isle now, and will be finishing up the final touches at Ocean Isle Marina and Yacht Club. Stop on by and check her out.
