I agree with Gooch. I don't want to turn this into a Cat Vs Mono thread, so I'll just state my first had experience. The wx man blew the forecast for the first day of last year's WMO. By mid-day we had 6' plus seas that were tight and capping. Our World Cat 270TE powered home at around 25-27 mph passing two bigger fountains and a contender with trips. The amusing part was, I stopped twice to readjust our side curtains. Each time I stopped, the contender passed up very close by doing about 15. Once our curtains were fixed, we'd get up on plane and pass him again! That 33 cat with the wider beam would be sweet. Oh and as long as Tommy is going to all the trouble of setting up the test ride, I want to come too!

This is my unbiased opinion:
I own and have fished mostly on World Cats World Cat is solidly built and the company stands behind their product (even you you aren't the original owner of the boat.) Their fit and finish is top notch. Pro-Sports Cat: I haven't ridden on them, but checked them out thoroughly at shows and on the docks. The fit and finish is not as nice as the WC, but the boat doesn't cost as much either. Glacier Bay: Different cat boat than the above two. This is a displacement hull....great ride, but slower...also uses smaller engines, so the cost is less as far as engines. I don't do the Grady thing, so I really can't comment on how they compare .

I have a 27 sf and My father has the 33TE both are awesome boats..the 33te rides different then the 27...both are great but the 33 is bigger and rides much bigger. In my opinion the 33 has a cleaner wake but with some tweaking the 27 is a good trolling boat as well....they are a different boat to drive, but once you learn how to trim the engines properly the ride is amazing. If you take a ride with Tommy he will show you which way to trim the boat in any condition....when it comes to WC no one knows them better then tommy....With all that being said....there is no other boat out there that can run past the big boys in the slop(take a ride for proof) and then after catching tunas you can fish the skinny water for flatties since they draw next to nothing....we take my 27 back to seacrets all the time if we have more than 7 people....Go for a ride....thats all it'll take

Hey Gooch, are you the guy from OC who was asking about trolling with the 27 last year on the WC forum? If so, I think you sat next to a co-worker of mine on some plane back from Florida....she's a really loud chick with a pair of large engines

ok.. i checked out the world cats. i do happen to like them. i just think that they are a little on the slower side even though they are smoother in the slop.. they are very nice looking boats. My neighbor owns a new 28' pro kat which looks like a sleek boat with the huge sex panther on the side.. i wonder if thats an option because that is one hell of an advertisement
