the early fichts had some big problems...the year you're looking at has no issues-send me the serial numbers and i can run them for you-it will tell what and any warranty repairs were preformed on them...
that hydra sport vector series-very well made boat, they ride nice too-i've rigged a few with electronics and i was impressed....
Hey thanks jawz. When i get real serious i will get the serial and send them your way. When you say the early ones had problems, what years do you mean? Thanks for all your help.
Like jawz12 said get the serial numbers and I can get them run through the factory as well. The biggest problem I am aware of was the heat sink on the computer module getting salt build up rather quickly and causing an overheat of the module. That's all I know about the problems. Other than that they run great and haul A$$. You can pull every bit of info from the module you want. They can tell you how many hours on the engines and any other underlying problems with the engine. Serial numbers of the module have to match up to the engine through the factory. They are like the black box on airplanes, they can tell you everything! Every engine has it's problems, no matter how much money you have!

Hey,
I run a 26' w twin 200's Fichts. From 2001 on you are good to go, they finally got it right starting in 2001 and beyond, I have over 750 hours on mine with no serious issues other then a couple starters and fuses and such. They like to run hard and long and it's best to change out your plugs every 100 hours and I also regap my plugs every 30-50 hours, makes a big difference. They are quiet and run as clean as ANY 2 stroke on the water.
I would be careful with those 99's and 00's they had allot of problems.
Good Luck,
JW
I used to own a 2390 Vector with a single 225 ficht (2001). The boat ran well, but I found it to be on the wet side, especially in a quartering sea. That said, I did run the wheels off it, sometimes running as far as 100 plus miles offshore for tunas. Engine was flawless (except for the few self-inflicted problems). The boat could take a beating. It had plenty of fuel for just about any trip you'd want to take. They were a little sensitive to trim; it takes a little practice to drive them properly. Great boat, especially if you can buy it right on the used market.
Thanks for the input capt. ned. I'm not too worried about it being wet, i can only expect so much out of a 23' boat. I just put a bid in on a 02 with twin yamaha 150's. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
