Went through this. Repowered my new to me 93 boat with 200 hpdis 3 seasons ago. After 75 hrs it had to be done, then 50 hours. Had them cleaned etc a total of about 8 times over 2 years and it only got worse. Last winter bit the bullet and replaced the tank. Not easy as the deck needed to be cut. No problems this year but the high pressure fuel pump quit but still under warranty. How old is the boat.

She's a 2001 Pursuit. The guys at the shop think the same thing, pull the tank. Fortunately, Pursuit built the deck with access to the tank. But the tank is foamed into a boxed stringer system. Gonna be a ***** to get out - sawzall, crowbars, sweat and a creative vocabulary.

I'm no materials expert. But it doen't look like aluminum to me. I'll ask the shop to pull the 10 mic racors from the separators and see if somethings up there. Every time I looked at them last year, they were clean. Thanks for the tip. Any other ideas are appreciated.

Kindof sucks thinking about having to do a tank on a 7 year old boat. If your scrapping the tank its easy to get out If your shop has a lift or a forklift.

It really sucks. All 12 injectors have to be cleaned (started fouling plugs late last season). I'm replacing the lifter pumps, filters, etc. Still not sure about the tank. E10 sucks

    sunshine marine tanks in miami...

    a good tank company..

    empty the tank...

..if its not leaking.. a sawzall with a long blade cutting the foam between the stringer and tank .. it works well going slow with a shop vaccume... *long hand saw also works... chain it up and pull or jack it out... figure out a new one .. strap it in ..pour new foam ... glass it in and go fishing..

do not replace your tank unless you look inside of it and see that it is needed. this is all byproduct of ethanol, some of it goes through the ten micron filter and clogs up the vst and some of it does not. you need to clean injectors, replace all filters and go to a 2 micron fuel water seperator. then talk to me about changing you tank.
