how to keep seagull off the radar dome

Anyone have any good ideas for keeping seagulls from sitting atop the radar dome and t-top, and crapping all over it? I think most of the sitting and shitting is on the radar dome. I think the t-top gets the inadvertent droppings during take off.

    FWIW - It's a 48" span between outriggers.

    Thanks in advance,
    Ed

    I have seen two ways.

In the keys I have seen rotating sprinkler heads on a timer. Ever minute or so the sprinkler goes off and skoots the pelicans off the boats.

The other way may be a little better. there is a boat in Ocean City that made a large wire rod type thing that he has on a small electric rotating motor. You could probably make one for less then $30 and attach it to a suction cup and place it right on top of your dome.

It is simple a piece of wire cut to the length you need. Then use something like a rotesseri (sp) motor element that you could purchase for an outdoor grill. It will constantly rotate at a slow speed and keep anything from landing on your top.

You can use fishing line across between the outriggers or where ever... you can barely see it and they definitely can not land or sit on it

Shotguns could get a little messy. I think a .22 would do a little better job just don't shoot towards the neighbors house.

but if you're in ME, just take the boat out and pack it for the winter. that gives you all winter to research a solution.

Like John said, just make sure you use a full choke to minimize the damage to the radome.
