a couple of friends with .177cal air rifles with scopes, a box of pellets, acohple lawn chairs, and a really big cooler of beer has entertained us between chasing tuna and bills many a day in Venice. The gators don't complain abit. I think the lucky lady has the long term solution though

Lucky Lady is right. If you string a little fishing line above the dome they freak out when their wings hit the line. Fishing line keeps them off the Thimbal Shoals Light. Used to be a million of them roosting on it...The guys that maintain the light strung fishing line from the rail to the peak of the light and now the gulls don't go near it.

    Ya man....or gal.

I had mine set up with x-short bungees on both ends. That way they were all measured out and kept good tension in case the wind comes up etc. No need in mfg. new ones every day like I first did....just clip 'em around and go.

    Gull trouble

Here on the British Columbia coast they use rows of needle like spikes, some are metal and some plastic. I usually see they on light standards and atop some buildings to keep the gulls from sitting. Not sure where you would find such items, but search the net, I guess. Hope this helps.

Google a window cleaning supply seller they will have them, would not affix them to the dome to tightly may cause problems
