    Hey Jawz

First off I want to complement you on the work you do I find your posts to be very informative and detailed. That being said I understand you are extremely busy I was hoping to get your opinion on a couple boats I am looking at if you would not mind. 93 27 Ocean master w/03 200 Optimax, 00' 2596Hydrasports w/200 Johnson Ficths and a 98 m-282Mako with 225 Mer EFI's If you could give me you opinion on construction quality and things to look for I would appreciate it. I have sea trialed the Ocean Master and the Mako not the Hydra yet. If not thanks for your time. Coachmac

If it were me, I'd go w/ the OM27 & Opti's - assuming the hull was sound (I'd check the fuel tanks as well). I probably like the HS27 hull better, but the Fitch's are a potential nightmare. I like the Mako 282 hull, but that was the yr when they had some problems w/ the transom - I don't remember if the CG issued a recall, or warning, but something to look very closely at. Plus, that would be a thirstyl set-up w/ the efi's.

    2000 HS 2596 with Fichts

I have a 2000 HS 2596 and it runs great. The 2000 , 200HP Fichts have not been a problem. I may be interested in going to the 2796 if/when I find one and possibly repowering if the engines are 9+ years old. From what I've found, if the Fichts are running, they are going to continue to run by now.

Not sure where you are located, but you can PM me at jward@vmware.com if you have any other questions. I'd be interested in knowing what the HS is being listed for or you are contimplating paying.

    Wardman.
