Souunds like juice interrupted to engine ... Heat between battery and starter can cause less than enough juice to get through to kick her over. I'm not real familiar with the suzuki starter and how it feeds the flywheel but usually a solonoid will kick the spindle up on most motors to engage the fly. The most common cause for not getting the jump is not enough power getting through. Reason for not getting from point a to point b??? On my boat its a weekly game of hide and seek. I have very long battery cables and a lot gets lost along the way. Most comm is a loose connection back at the battery end... They can feel tight as hell butno juice? Try turning the cable underneath both positive and negative sides and see if it moves... If so undo the wing nut and retighten all over...

That sounds more like an electric fuel pump running dry than it does a starter solenoid not picking up.
I would make sure the fuel system under the cowling is well-primed before trying to start again, as the electric fuel pumps are lubricated by the fuel and don't do well when run dry.
I have to agree with deep, do you have battery switches on them , is one running off of one battery, and the other engine off another. Cause it sounds just like my inventory of new vehicles with dead batteries. I would definately check the battery out that the one is running off of, just a stupid question, is the bilge pump running off the same battery that this engine is ?

I am going with the battery giving you a problem here Marty. Don't forget you can have plenty of voltage show up on a tester (12 to 14.8 volts) but if you ain't got the amps the engine ain't gonna turn over (load tester will tell for sure).
Good idea to try from now on cause I know you got shore power at the yacht basin. Get you a trickle charger from Walmart 1.5 to 3 amp type. Leave it hooked up on the low amp trickle 24/7 I do this all year round and have never had a problem with any of the batteries I have left hooked up. Good idea to replace batteries every 2 years or so as well.
Jawz 12 any ideas here for Box?
