Gunnel Repair/ Lee gunnel mount outriggers

Have lee gunnel mount outriggers on a 92 24 Northcoast. The riggers were drilled through the gunnel and screwed in. The wood was not treated or sealed in so after 16 years the mounts are quite loose, due to the rotted wood in the gunnels . what would be the best remedy for this problem. thanks

Pull the old wood and replace it with new lumber or starboard. re-install the holders using thru-bolts.

I just did same on a 22 pursuit. Was surprised to see that they used plywood under the cover boards. I replaced the ply with clear fir planks, epoxy coated them and thru bolted holders and rigger mounts.

Plywood was good for 20 years. These should be ok for another 20.

Here's the only REAL way to fix it.....replace the rotted wood with Coosa board and you'll never have to worry about it again....

might wanna think about a backing plate underneath your repairs ... an inch or so wider than the topside plate might do ya well
