from what i've seen and been told, they do the most of any units out there and are some of the easiest to use. there is a function on one of the units where you can go back when you are back at the dock and review all the structure your bottom machine went over for the entire day, then use the gps to get the coordinates of the rock/ledge/whatever as you see it on the bottom machine. in essence, it syncs up your track with a history of the sounder. maybe other units do this too but i'm not aware of it. on the minus side, i have heard nightmares about their customer service department. i'm a northstar/furuno kind of guy, but am willing to give lowrance a try.

The new Lowrance HDS units have Lowrance's Broadband sounder built into them. This is a fine sounder which presents an incredible picture. Lowrance has always been known for having good fishfinders. The new HDS series has made some big leaps on the chartplotter side too. Their new chartplotters are supposed to be very fast and very capable. For a combo unit th eonly 2 I would consider are the new Lowrance HDS Series or the NEW Raymarine A Series.
