    A Goof Saved The Boat???

Got to it early today... Shut down the whole 12 volt side of things so I could run the new water maker and put it through its paces... About an hour into it I saw the center bilge pump light on the dash. As I shut down the bow one it would figure that she'd go next...
When the light didn't go out I decided to check on things. I opened her compartment and there was indeed some water in there , enough to trip the trigger but the pump wasn't running. Locked up!
I lit the bow pump off and sucked her dry. I noticed a trickle of water comming from forward and went on a hunt. Well I about crapped when I saw they had plumbed the watermaker output into the holding tank instead of the fresh water! How did I know? I saw it squirting out of a tiny crack in the pumpout line! Aha! Now not only did I find a mis plum but I also found a dead pump that I thought was good and I found the source of smell that has made me nuts for three months!

You might just say that the goofup saved our boat. I know there are two other pumps but I consider one out to be one too many... 5200 and tape addressed that crack issue so stink be gone. A rule 2000 was drawn from my "spares" bank and we are good to go...

    Good Find

3-for-1 nice find. Bilge alarms that work are a great feature.
Feels good when everything is working when you could have been swimming I bet

Gotta love when stuff like that happens. Yeah more work but the peace of mind is priceless... That pin hole may never have been found without it. I knew it was there as the place would grow a smell especially when it cooled down at night. The misplumb basically pressurized the tank and I was able to find it. Assuming a bilge pump works because it did before and the light said it did is easy to do but can be costly...
