    lookin good,

troy, i know this is sort of like a barn raising, and it looks like everyone helps everyone but........whats a job like this cost? with this type of boat i imagine you eventually have to or want to do this. im sure the boat will look new when done, part of the North Carolina boat building mystic.

Hey Troy, I know all about rubbing some money, It is border line INSANITY... The boat is getting the non skid sprayed tomorrow. Everything else has been done. The job came out great, I'm very pleased. This whole build was a learning experience. She should be going into the water in about two weeks. I will post some pics soon.

Hey Alex, Going by what I spent on the materials alone, it get pretty costly. But I also started with a fully planked boat from the bottom up. But, the work they are doing to the Fishing Frenzy Is a nice bit of work also. The fairing compound kits alone are expense. Not including all the blue tape and plastic and paper.
By the way, whats the next boat you on your wish list?

    Good too hear Keith,
I was asking the other day had anyone seen her in the water yet. Can't wait to see her and I have to go for a cruise.
It's like raising a child but more exspensive, kinda.

    Talk to ya soon,
    Troy

    Hey Alex,
it's not cheap but it will preserve that boat for years to come and it's really cheaper than building a new one

Greg is doing some other stuff to the boat while he has it in the shop, painting the top side and cockpit etc. He is figuring between 15 to 20k when it's all done, thats haul out transport etc. etc..

Do you have one you want to rub some money on ????

15 to 20 K for that scope of work is a lot less than I was estimating.

Looks like it's money well rubbed.

I can't wait to see it when it's done.

    Agreed,
not much work down here right now and some empty shops to boot, thats unfortunate.
I guess you can get some good rates if you look around.

    B O A T = break out another thousand!!!

The guys at Briglia's have done an outstanding job getting the Frenzy as fair as she is. Sure, you could glass her, put on some buildup, and paint her in less than 2 weeks. The problem is, the fiished job looks like it. I decided to spend a few thousand more on the paint job to get a first class finish. I think it will be well worth it. Remember, there are three aspects of a project like this: price, speed, and quality. Unfortunately, you can only get two of the three, just remember what you're trying to accomplish.

    Thumbs up

    Greg,

Like anything else you get what you pay for. It's all in the finish work.

We have countless hours spent on fairing the hull of my new 48' express as seen in the thread "The custom build continues; A photo update", that I hate to even begin to think abou it. But she is so smooth and fair now that in my world every last dime that was spent doing it was well worth it.

You've preserved the boat by going through that process and it was money very well spent. You can't even get a decent small center console boat for what it cost to preserve such a sweet looking boat.

Good luck with it. I'm looking forward to the photo's of the paint job.

    Mike

Can you roll the build up or do you have to spray it?
