Best bet for removing left over glue is acetone, that's what the boat builders use to clean gel coat/fiberglass.

    Removing Decals

I have used WD-40 to remove bumper stickers from my cars before. A little heat a little WD-40 should take it right off.

A heat gun on the low setting and if need be use the high setting and the glue should become easy to take off, if not try rubbing compound.
