    Gel Coat repair on Ocean

I have a 97' Ocean that the Gel coat has been weathered. I was thinking on a light sand job. Please if there is any other / easier way to get it to shine again. Also thinking about painting the top of the hard top because it is definetly too chaulky....Any help ???????

You may wish to get some Aqua buff 1200 and then 2000, these are buffing compounds used for fiberglass, do a small section and if you like what you see it will same you a bunch on paint!,,

As Bo said Aqua buff 2000 first see if it is enough on a small test area. If not go 1000 then 2000

This is what a lot of professionals do before ever resorting to wet sanding. It can be bought online and even ebay The main tool you will need is a variable speed buffer polisher`. with wool pads.

Thanks Jay ,,as creepy old as I am getting I forgot the buffer,, I would have had the guyubbing his fingers off, or buying a new paint job,, Nawty you are going to want to run the buffer at the lowest RPM and keep a spray bottle of water handy to keep the compound moist,, it "cuts" best that way,, post some pictures!

Wool pads are a good way to go, if you have an 8" "hookit" disk you can use waffle foam, you can keep 3 wool pads and when they need cleaning you can use a flat screw driver Backwards to clean them and toss them in the washing maching!,, PM me if you need more info,, glad to help!
