    Garmin radar and chartplotters????

    Looking to find out anything about the gmr40 radar and the 4210 chartplotter. give it to me straight, good, bad and the ugly. Thanks guys Rob

    the only experience i have with those is,my dock neighbor has the exact unit,he loves it...a boat i'm working on,the owner is in the marine trade-electronics,he has a 4200 series garmin unit...
    i've had garmin units previous and they all performed great !!! i've never heard a bad thing about these units...i would purchase one...how's that ???

    The 4210 is the latest and greatest. The best all around unit on the market in my opinion. The GMR40 is kind of old though. Get one of the newer domes like the GMR18HD

    5208

    We have the 5208 on our blackfin... The only differences between this unit and the 4210 is it's 2 inches smaller and it's a touch screen. I can't think of a negative thing to say about it. Great contrast, very clear, user friendly as it's easy to navigate through..

    The Garmin is a real nice machine.The radar has a nice picture.You can add the XM weather and audio.The weather package adds some nice benefits to the setup.
