    Garmin 3205

Anybody have a garmin 3205 GPS/Chartplotter? I'm going to need one whenthe Seabird is done and like the looks of this. It seems like it would fit nicely in the console. Any input on this unit?

I just bought the 3206 and will be installing it this weekend. It seems like a ton of wires when you open the box, but most are for the CANNET system. If you are networking it, or not even going the network route, you will end up cutting most of the wires.

One thing I was confused about: To get the Mariner's Eye View and the Fish Eye View, you must buy the Bluechart G2 chip. I thought the only benefit was sat shots and said NO WAY, but not the case.

I found a site with some great deals if you want a link. Got the 3206 networked (GSD 22, GDL 30A and GMS 10) for 2 grand. Prices the 3205 (not networked) at $940 once you add it to your cart.

I will let you know how the install goes this weekend.

Great! I looked at the 3206 as well but really just want a chart plotter. I have a raymarine DSX 500 fishfinder and I may add a radar at a later date. I would like to hear how you like once it is installed. I found a 3205 for $894 on line. Best price by far!!

    Thanks for the reply.

Byrd, the install went very well. My previous electronics experience includes wiring my trailer - that's about it Took 6 hours to make a mount out of poplar (sealed with polyurethane sp?) for the GSD 22, GDL 30A and GMS 10 along with a fuse box and wire everything.....not bad for my first job

I may be able to get out once more this season so if you still haven't made your decision by October 5, I'll let you know how it works.
