Don't get me started about that insult to intellegence they call Ray marine... I'm so over the top pissed at them that if they gave me all the free product in the world for life I wouldn't put one on a boat again... Wow! Sounds like I'm sugar coating how I really feel about them... Some of our boats have em and with the exception of our mid- Contender who's unit was rebuilt by Ray we have not had three days running on the others without something failing!
The boss man was conned into getting state of the art E-120... IT has all the whistles and bells but the damn thing won't give us a single tournaments worth of work.
We had one shit in the Bahamas during the Bacardi last year. We called Ray and of course they could do nothing for us with warranty while we sat over there. The boss bought new. We got back and sent the dead unit to Ray. The warranty people said they would not cover it because 110 volt had been back fired through the unit? I asked if they were sure? If anything else could have done it? They said no! 100% that it was 110 that ran back through it. I told them we were off shore when it happened . They insisted that it had to be our generator and mis wiring that did it. I then let them know that the $20,000 turd was on a contender and that we had no 110 or a gen set. There was silence and they said they would call back. It was twenty minutes late that some big wig called and appologized. and it was a "mis understanding"... My ass. That unit they fixed though has been 100%.
The unit in the other boat has been replaced with new now four times and this unit shit this week.
My viking had a mix of stuff on there. It all came out and its all Furuno now. My Albemarle is all Furuno. SOme as old as 1991 and it all works perfect.
