Furuno LS 4100 vs Garmin 400 C
I am looking for a depth finder to install this spring. Specifically, it is for a 13' Whaler used for crabbing and bottom drifting the back waters for flounder from the Indian River coast guard station on back. Looking to spend $300-$325 on the high side... probably overkill.
Anyhow, I've always liked Furuno for depth and Garmin for GPS but for the price point have found the Garmin in color and the Furuno in Monochrome- B/W.
Models are:
Garmin 400 C - Dual Frequency
Furuno LS 4100 - Dual Frequency
Anyone have either of these models and what has been your experience. Do either work better in sunlight? The color vs B/W significant? The transducer will be a transom mount.
Appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Marcelo
