Furuno GP7000F Pro's /Con's

Considering upgrading my 8 yr old 1650 to the newer GP7000F.

I'm a big Furuno fan and don't want to change brands.

Anybody have this unit that could provide me with a little feedback??

many more pros than cons!!! especially for you since you are coming out of a furuno unit. You will be immediatly familiar with the functions, the screen is larger, more pixles and nits. it will also have up dated cartography, in c-map only.

I had the GP7000/F (Combo GPS Plotter wth Fishfinder) and just replaced with a Garmin GPS and a Furuno FCV575. Pro's-great display with sharp colors,compact unit like your 1650. Con's-limited on the screen combinations, GPS plotter functions very hard to use and not intuitive, Fishfinder works really well but only on the auto function when in the GPS/FF spilt combo screen,you have to go to full fishfinder mode to have any contraol of the fishfinder, graphic re-draws on the screen are slow. I really wanted to keep the unit but I wanted more precise plotter functions along with greater control over my fish finder. You can beat a Garmin for ease of use and fast graphic re-draws and Furuno makes great stand alone Fish finders.
The NavNets are the way to go if you hve the $ and mounting space.
