Don't personally have one but I have a lot of guys come in the store and ask for 585's. Had a guy that just put one on a 44' Luhrs even after spending $14,000 for all Raymarine stuff. Said that he just loved the 585 on his boat he just sold and wanted another.

I don't think the Furuno 585 with it's 8" screen will fit along side the 1650 on a 23' GW. Also you will be looking a long time to snag one under a grande.

I would go for the older model Furuno 582L (50hz /200hz) with an Airmar 600w TX. The picture is unbeatable and the 200hz will be perfect for the Cheas. and the 50hz will give you all day bottom out to the 30 mile curve. I have one on my 23' SeaCraft and it keeps printing all the way from West Palm Beach to the Bahamas without a miss

can't you get a blackbox unit to go with the 1650? Or do you just have to buy the unit with the sounder already built in?
